Do Anh has been writing about color curves and saturation, so I decided to play with those futures and I used one of the pictures I took at Toronto Islands. The first picture is the original picture, which looks plain and normal. Nothing special.
The next picture is the result of playing with color curves and increasing the saturation level. The result is much better.

Your rendering of this image resembles the shot I e-mailed you about the other day. If the water was calmer, you would get a very clear reflection off the water. Because the surrounding element is darkened, your eyes are focused on the swan. You could try to crop out the shoreline at the top of the photo so the focus is totally on the swan. Good rendering.
